DILANA CROSSES THE LINE

As I am preparing to watch week 8 of the “Reality episode of Rockstar Supernova” I can’t help but wonder what kind of editing trick the producers of Rockstar Supernova are going to play on us this week. But mostly, which of the remaining rockers is going to get the main focus.
Well, this week there are a few front-runners. But as expected, the real battle, the raging fire, is between Dilana and Lukas.Spoiler: the 7 remaining rockers meet the Press and are confronted to “Jaime White” from 98.7FM who seems to take a perverse pleasure in asking all of the wrong questions to purposely trap the aspiring singers. some are easier than others to break. Lukas manages to keep a hold of his emotions and so do most of the rockers.But in n an attempt to raise herself above the pack, Dilana jumps head first into quick sand and volunteers to one reporter on on how Storm hated the Supernova song lyrics, on Ryan who hated the song all together, on the fact that Patrice should no longer be there, on why Magni is not really wanting this gig and would prefer to be with his family and how Toby is along just for the ride. Ouf…but she keeps her best comments for Mrs White.When asked who do you really hate, she replies “I’m getting there – there is definitely guy that I want to strangle at least once a day and that is Lukas” and why is that? “From one hour to the next he’s a different person. Every now and again he gets this one little nerve in me who just wants to punch his lights out”.

A lot of people agree with Dilana. Right or wrong, no one loves Lukas more than Lukas. His musical instincts MAY be fine at times, but are way off in the crunch. Dilana can more than hold her own, and is so much more suited for the real world. Lukas will bury himself if not from lack of actual ability to see what he’s shoveling, then from pure arrogance. Attitude is fine in the music biz or any creative world, when you have a reason to have it and wear it well. He doesn’t. Dilana is a crowd favorite and there is a reason for that! She has the right to speak her mind, mainly because she is not stuck up, she’s real, down to earth, makes no bones about who she is, and plays no act to get an image across… she is pure talent.

After last week watching Dilana perform with Supernova was enough for me to know she’s
‘Not the one!’ Besides if she was chosen she showed she is one to ‘kiss and tell!’ Not like Tommy Lee has had enough bad publicity in his life already!
I liked Patrice’s performance last night, that was the first time I’ve liked her. But its her turn to go, you’re right.
I really enjoy most of Toby’s performances, and your so right about his accent! I still think he has more to give, and won’t give up without a good fight.
Ryan really has knocked it up a few notches with his last 2 performances. I loved his original song. He totally rocked last night! If getting laid does that to him then he best keep his girlfriend close till the end of the competition. I didn’t know he could smile, but he proved me wrong.
I have liked Magni from day one. I love his singing, and he has a sweetness about him that you can’t deny. Each week his performance is better then the week before in my opinion. Whether he’s SN material, well only the guys really know!
I didn’t enjoy Lukas’s singing until he sang ‘Creep’, but he has really shown the diversity of his voice since the last two shows. His stage presents is very powerful, and SN material all the way. Besides just like you’ve stated, he’s Tommy’s favorite!

I’VE BEEN A TOBY AND LUKAS FAN SINCE DAY ONE.I’M SICK AND TIRED OF ALL THIS DILANA HYPE. IF YOU ACTUALLY LISTEN TO HER VOICE SHE HAS A CERTAIN COUNTRY VIBE TO IT. HER RASP IS NOT REALLY HARD ROCK AT ALL , I DO NOT SEE HOW SHE COULD FRONT THIS BAND. AND THE SUPERNOVA SONG SHE SANG ON WAS TERRIBLE BOTH MUSIC WISE AND VOCALLY. THE RIFF WAS ONLY A STRAIGHT B BLUES SHUFFLE RHYTHM. THEY TEACH THIS STYLE OF GUITAR AT BEGINNER LEVELS.I HOPE THE ORIGINAL TRACKS GET BETTER.SUPERNOVA NEEDS A LEAD GUITAR PLAYER ALSO. Lukas has class. He didn’t have anything bad to say about anyone in the house. He’s not into throwing people under the bus or smearing them to make himself look better. He’s a cool guy. I respect him more now for the way he handled himself with the press. I guess Dilana needs to learn that putting others down does not make one look better. Lukas is not there to be her best friend, and if he’s a little moody, so be it. The mood in that house has got to be quite tense at moments. That’s still no reason to be so harsh or mean. She showed her true colors. Even without those pink eyelashes. And I did not like her comment about Bambi either!! Lukas rocks! They all did a great job on Tuesday. Every one of them. Lukas is still my favorite.

I’ve already left so many comments and they all sound the same. Can someone make sure Lukas Rossi gets the opportunity to read some of these comments from his fans? I know the man is busy, but he should be aware of the enormity of his fan base to date. I believe it is safe to assume he is well liked by all the ladies. We LOVE him. I think the guys realize his talent and respect him too. But now he’s even better – he has a great personality to boot!!!! It can’t get any better. He is so sincere and his fans appreciate that. A great voice, yes, a lot of energy and moxy, yes, but a man with a Heart!! His mother should be proud of him. We love you Lukas!!!! I feel like a frickin cheerleader here, but that’s ok. This life is short and I’m proud to be acting this silly over this guy. He’s young and has a great future ahead of him. Go for it Lukas!!!

Dilana is amazing and the only reason I watch the show. At this point her biggest threat is herself. The negative comments she made about Lukas will not win her any fans. Personally, I don’t mind what she said but it makes her look bad. She has doing great in the contest so far and she’s way too good of a performer to have say things like that, (especially in an interview). —BUT DILANA STILL F’ing ROCKS!!!!!

I think that Dilana just ruined it for herself!! Its gonna take alot for her to pull herself out of this one. I love Lukas and have for years, I hope that he wins this thing. Although Supenova’s music isn’t that good.. from what I have heard so far. I agree that they need a gutair player too. I dont think that Gilby can handle it all that well. I don’t think it matters really who wins..because I think that this band will not be the great band they all want it to be.

Lukas is talented with star-power but he’s taking alot of heat from alot of directions and you could tell it in his tuesday performance. He was great, but vulnerable from all the crap so he wasn’t 110%. Jaime’s a A1 Skank… wasn’t she the 30sec joke going after people’s hairdos and stuff on E! a few years ago? Dilana may have had it all, but is screwed it up with talking crap. No one wants to carry that kind of baggage.

If Lukas gets it, that’ll be a CD I won’t buy. Actually any of them except Dilana. Even with her, they wouldn’t be my top favorite band, but she’s the only one I like out of all the singers. Lukas sounds way too much like the singer from Smashing Pumpkins. I hated his voice and I don’t care for a copy of it.

Lukas does have the rockstar look, but , his voice is a total turnoff for me. He is fun to watch though. The only Supernova music I will be listening to is Supernova fronted by Dilana. She would make Supernova standout because there are so few great female rock performers, and she could be one of them.

First to say as many of you have already relized, Ryan has no chance at winning this competition. What Dilana said about his song was absolutely true. His vocals where horrible and if it wasn’t for the scruff on his face I would swear he was going through puberty after his voice cracked so many times. He’s not changing it up every week he’s just like a f’cking puppet doing whatever he’s told. Realy throwing the guitar after they told Magne to, Sit Ryan good boy, now go home. As for Dilana’s comments and her attitude coming out I commend her this is Rock Star, not Pop Star. The three major bands the members of Supernova came from were Axle Rose, Vince Neal and James Hettfeild all ignorant and all great singers, sound familier?

Dilana really did show her true colors. Supernova isn’t going to use a girl to front their band anyways. And Lukas is definitly the ladies favorite. He’s got the voice by far, the look, the attitude, maybe a little less arrogance but other then that he’s amazing in all aspects. He really showed people how much bigger he can be then other people when it comes to people trashing him. Good Job Lukas

Who cares what Dilana said. Isnt this show about wannabe bad asses anyways???? I think that rockstar is one “extreme” Karaokee show that would totally suck if it wasnt for Dilana. Her performances are for the most part original and on some occasions better than the originals. Her performances are the best because they are the least Karaokee like. Other than that the show is pretty absurd

Wait a minute you Lukas drones! At the begining of the contest Lukas was bad mouthing EVERYONE right in front of the cameras. He was cocky and arrogant but seems to have recovered from that out burst. You all have selective short memories or is this just Dilana bashing week!!

Allow me to be blatantly honest: Although once relatively heavily involved in the music scene ‘back in the day’ (and those days were at places like “The Fab Mab” in S.F. seeing and hanging out with bands like Flipper, Dead Kennedys, and such) the natural course of life has moved me beyond such fanatic dedication to whatever is currently on todays music scene. Now, at the age of 44, I find myself experiencing teen-age-girl-type-crush feelings for Lukas Rossi. How did this happen?
Needing to know more, I searched the web and came across his video “Lonely Ones” (with Rise Electric; you can find this, and other videos of Lukas with R.E., at this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yshnuA5ulGY&mode=related&search=) and was further stunned by his overall artistic talent and presentation (he does the entire ending of “Lonely One” in a most haunting falsetto; I highly encourage readers to check it out, along with the lyrics, which take one back to the characters played by James Dean in both ‘East of Eden’ and ‘Rebel Without a Cause’…Shades of Lukas’ own life and angst, perhaps?). Suffice it to say that, while I recognized the talents of Dilana and others, from day one I watched ‘Rockstar: Supernova’ primarily to see Lukas. He has me feeling excited about music again, and his original work, in my opinion, is strong. Let’s face it: There is a bit of a “Brando” quality lurking about him; he also appears to play with his sexuality, creating a deliberate sort of androgyny that can be ever-so-appealing to both men and women alike. It is clear to me also, judging by his own original lyrics, that he has experienced great pain in his life, yet he seems overall reconciled to it, even tentatively hopeful still, despite it.
Lukas is a great find, he is unique, he is an extraordinarily gifted performer, and from what I can ascertain, it is reported consistently that he is a hell of a nice guy in person, displaying that “live and let live” attitude that I associate with most Canadians that I have known. I was certain from the first episode on that he will win, and I continue to be positive that I am right. I also get the sense that Supernova has had their eye on him from the beginning, and that he is the one they want, and have wanted, from the beginning. This would explain the careful, delicate slicing down of Dilana, who, by consistently garnering the most votes, may have been putting a monkey-wrench in the overall ‘master plan’. This suspicion appears to be confirmed by the fact that they held back Lukas for awhile, not inviting him to perform with them, but then chose him to sing with Supernova this past week, following the “chopping and dicing of Dilana.” Certainly the wind is with Lukas now in regard to his getting “the job”. The only question I have is, will this actually impede him in his overall creative growth and development as an artist, that is, might Supernova actually hold him back…(other readers’ thoughts/comments on this appreciated)? Either way, I do hope that SN has the sense to use the lyrics that Lukas’ wrote to one of their songs (the one Dilana ended up singing) a few weeks ago (where Lukas wrote…”I hate you, you hate me, I guess we understand…”) – Let’s face it: It was far superior to the ones SN wrote themselves!

Damn! I missed the whole Dilana-comments week and it seems like I missed a lot. Dilana has been my favorite to win since Day 1. However, even she needs to let up on “the mistake” and move on. It’s making her sound like a whiner every time she mentions how much she screwed up! Enough is Enough! Where did that strong, confident woman rocker go? you know…the one that I still want to win this competition? As for writing a song that basically tells the voters that they can “f-off”…I’m not sure that that will get you votes – MOVE ON!

Dilana is not a very nice person. She said those things about Lukas because she wanted him to be knocked into the bottom three, and sent home. She hates him mainly because he’s Canadian, she thinks he’s annoying, and she knows that she can get to him if she wants to. I know that Lukas is much stronger than that, and he can pull his own weight without her dragging him down. Dilana needs to get her facts straight before she dogs on everyone.
