Remember I was worried about the editing tricks in yesterday’s column? Well it turns out I had every reason too.
By now, we’ve all seen this week’s reality show. Edited or not (and we all know it was reduced like sauce) we all witnessed Dilana’s behavior with the media and her bashing of not only Lukas, but each and every member of the remaining rockers.
Well on tomorrow’s performance show, none of it is shown on TV. That’s right. NONE! What we see instead is Lukas walking out on Miss “cold like snow” White!
Clever editing if you want to portray Dilana as the sweet, heavily tattooed African beauty with the metal smile that can do no harm. Her fans are going to be thrilled by the outcome again this week. And I can live with that. It’s fair game to boost the ratings and Lukas does not need to take his clothes off to gain more fans.
And my money is on him to win this gig. Yes Dilana is talented. And drop dead “in your face” beautiful on screen. But if you close your eyes and simply ‘listen’ to her performances, it does get tiresome and the thrill quickly fades. It did for me.
Lukas is absolutely unpredictable. Growling one minute, hitting the big notes the next. Morphing from week to week into a new performer, a chameleon, a star entertainer, a real triple threat, who is bigger than life.
But I digress. The media, oh yes. What I have a hard time dealing with is the way our Canadian Press is dealing with this edited info. “Will Lukas’s ego become to big for Supernova?” was asking Rick Campanelli on tonight’s edition of ET Canada .
Yes I know, the ratings. Creating scandal around Lukas seems to be the way to go in our country. It’s been like that since the first show. I should be used to it by now. I’m not! Sorry.
