Last night’s Rockstar Supernova elimination show was certainly filled with surprises.
There was no mention of the voting fiasco. Instead, Brooke Burke stated that the voting had doubled the night before (which might explain the server crashing).
We were then served yet another recap of the week’s drama (will this ever end?) but since Dilana elected to wear her little devil horns, I guess it was fitting.
Jason Newsted then introduced this weeks Supernova song entitled “It’s On” with Lukas Rossi on vocals. And it was ON. Lukas was again at the top of his game and sold the song to the crowd and the viewers. Another great signature performance for our favorite Canadian musician.

The winner of the space.msn.com contest was announced and then, the “Encore” performance by Toby Rand. Our Aussie cheerleader did another great job with it. No question about it, Toby is a ‘fun’ performer to watch.
And then, the dreaded envelope with the bottom 3 announcement.
This week, everyone hit the bottom 3 at one point or another. Except for Magni.
But then again, Iceland does not vote on the same server as North America so Magni’s votes went through without a hitch.
After the oh’s and ah’s, the first rocker to be in the official bottom 3 is Ryan.
He announces that he will blow our minds with The Who’s “Baba O’Reilly”. Well he didn’t blow mine. He was all over the place. Vocally and physically, but not necessarily in a good way. My eardrum felt it and for me it was not pleasant. Not pleasant at all. Don’t get me wrong, I like Ryan, but Supernova is ‘not’ the band for him. Not by a long shot.
The second bottom 3 Rocker is Storm with the Beatle’s “Helter Skelter”.
A large Storm hit the stage tonight. If there is a song hard to sing, it has to be Helter Skelter and for me, she killed it! Not going anywhere this week.
The final Rocker to hit the bottom 3 is Princess Dilana. “whooooo ahhhhhhhhh” coming from the audience and total shock to Tommy Lee. Obviously, it didn’t matter much to the listeners that Dave thought Dilana gave the best performance of the 2 seasons the night before. It was his opinion, but not that of the fans.
A ‘hornless’ Dilana performed the last song of the night: “Psycho Killer” by Talking Heads that she dedicated to “herself”. Like her or not, Dilana has always given great performances. But last night, not! She was vocally strong but I felt I was watching a tribal dance in the jungle filled with strobe lights. Weird. I really hated it. And from the look on the band member’s they weren’t too excited about it either. Oh well, there is still time for her to pull together and make the final show.
After deliberation and some feedback to the bottom 3 members, “Tommy Hawk” announced the next member to leave: Ryan Star. More boo hoo from the audience and a somewhat bitter Ryan stated that Supernova was making a mistake by letting him go but that he would see them on the record charts as a solo artist. Good luck Ryan! And I mean that.
This week, the 5 remaining rockers will have yet another song writing clinic with Gilby Clarke. If we are lucky enough, we will see them perform their creation next week. If not, we will still have one last final performance night before the final show. Stay tuned!
